NIX - Not Just Any Ordinary Cat

Shocking Discovery

What sort of guy went out and bought his cat an emerald and diamond collar merely because she was pissed at him? JC had to wonder at himself as he eyed the sparkling cat collars the clerk placed in front of him. How in the hell had he arrived at this pricey pet ‘boutique’ just because Nix had given him the cold shoulder? Did that make him crazy? Glancing around he saw mainly women in the shop. Women were supposedly more doting on their pets than men? Or did the guys simply shop on line to prevent this embarrassment?

The biggest question of all was why JC felt the need to placate the spoiled feline at all. Of course he had yelled at her when he discovered his old worn jacket, a beloved favorite, had been reduced to mere strips of leather. The shouts didn’t appear to have any effect on Nix. In fact, she’d seemed amused when he grabbed his throbbing head at the sound of his own loud voice. To make matters worse, she’d strolled over to the pile of shredded leather and shit on it – right in front of him. With a haughty toss of her head and a swish of her tail, she’d left him to stare after her in amazement. The little bitch!

The friendly, middle-aged sales clerk beamed at JC. “Your little lady must be very special,” she stated.

“She’s a royal pain in the ass,” JC responded in a mutter. “Heaven only knows why I am doing this.” He selected a silver collar of square-cut emeralds flanked by small diamonds. “That one.” It reminded him of another pair of green eyes and the tears she shed after they made love.

“Shall I gift wrap it?”

“Like she’s bound to notice?” This was Nix he was talking about. Of course, she would notice! “Yeah, I guess.”

Nix greeted JC at the kitchen door in more her usual style, happy to see him, purring loudly, and wanting to be picked up. He supposed all had been forgiven – whatever he had done that demanded her forgiveness. She bumped her head on his chin and rubbed her face against his jaw, all the while purring happily.

JC stroked her sleek coat. “We had a bad stretch there, huh?” For a moment he buried his face in her soft fur. The scent of her was familiar, though he couldn’t have said why. It reminded him of heady, exotic perfume... “I brought you something. A peace offering.”

Carrying her to the living room, he sat on the sofa. Placing the slender wrapped box on the cushion beside him, he said, “For you.”

Nix wondered if JC even realized what he was doing. He was being a typical male trying to buy back her affections, however unnecessary. One did not do such a thing for a mere pet. One did it for a lover or a mate. Perhaps on some level he believed...

JC watched as the cat deftly sliced the tape with one claw then spread the silver foil paper to uncover a velvet jeweler’s box. She glanced at him as he reached to flip the lid open. “Well?” he asked as he revealed the emerald and diamond collar. She seemed to vibrate with pleasure. “Like it, beautiful?”

Nix put her front paws on his chest and nipped lovingly at his neck. It was truly lovely.

“Hey, no hickies!” he joked. He fastened the collar around her neck. “Yeah, it was made for you for sure.”

Cradling her, her head on his shoulder, JC stayed on the sofa for some time. He stroked her idly as she purred happily. He felt ridiculously content to be forgiven. Why he felt the need to appease the contrary feline, only God knew. Nix was more than a pet; she was a companion to his loneliness. Her unique, often irritating traits made her almost human. If she were a real woman, she would be demanding, jealous, and quick-tempered. She would also be loving, loyal, and passionate. He didn’t know how he would deal with such a female. Nix was difficult enough!

Oh, yes! He was getting it – finally. Nix snuggled closer, nuzzling his neck. JC did realize she made him happy in a way he couldn’t explain. Perhaps soon...

“Whaddya say we go take a nap, then go into the studio later?”

Nix leaped from his arms and towards the stairs.

Laughing, JC followed. “I take that as a yes.”

She was doing those wonderful things with her tongue again. He’d never known a woman who enjoyed oral sex so much – giving it. She wasn’t good at receiving it. “I thought you were mad at me.”

Emerald eyes peered up at him. “Now mad exactly.”

“Not pleased then.”

She touched the jeweled choker around her neck. “You gave me this in apology.”

JC frowned. He didn’t recall purchasing her a gift.

“It is all right, beloved. Soon you will know.”

She pressed her tongue to the slit of the tip of his manhood, making him forget everything but his pleasure. Damn! She was so good! Maybe in a couple hundred years he would tire of the things she did to him with her talented mouth.

As he came to the brink, he reached down to stroke her hair. He encountered not the long silky hair she presented but something velvety and short... Fur?...

JC jolted awake. His eyes went to the black cat that was very thoroughly swirling her tongue around the crown and head of his penis. At first he was too stunned to do anything – simply stare in shock. In the next instant, he exploded. Damn! Nix was cleaning him up as if he were the richest bowl of cream she’d ever encountered. His cat had just given him a blowjob! Oh, God... And he didn’t remember any human female making him come so forcefully...

“Dammit, Nix!” he shouted as he scrambled away to sit against the headboard. He snatched up a pillow to cover himself. “What the...”

The cat simply peered at him like he was crazy!

“What the fuck do you think you’re doing?”

If he didn’t know... Nix mentally sighed. So close... JC’s logic had closed his mind to the possibilities. She was suddenly tired... so very tired. Defeat was a heavy mantle she had carried far too long...

JC watched Nix with a mixture of wonder and amazement. Were those tears slipping down her narrow face, glistening like tiny diamonds on her whiskers? Cats didn’t cry, did they? For some inexplicable reason, he felt her deep sorrow.

Then logic reasserted itself. “You can’t do that to me,” JC scolded. “Get out. You can’t sleep here anymore.”

Big green eyes blinked at him in disbelief.

“Out!” he shouted, one finger painting towards the door.

With an angry hiss, she swiped at his finger, drawing blood.

“You little bitch!” Scooping her up, JC tossed her into the hall and slammed the door.

Stupid, stupid male! Nix was furious. How close he treat her in such a heavy-handed manner? Not once had he ever complained before tonight.

Heading down the stairs, Nix stalked into the living room. She would show her displeasure in the only way available in her present form – she shredded his sofa.

Presented with the disaster in his living room the next morning, JC yelled at Nix, threatening to send her to the pound.

The cat merely looked at him as if his tirade was insignificant and daintily licked her paw. She knew he would do no such thing. As angry as he was, JC had come to love Nix. Not in the way she wished to be loved, still it was love. A love he was helpless to explain.
