Give In To Me

Needing Help

“Whoa!” JC muttered to himself as the hottest creature on the planet walked towards him as he stepped off the elevator.

A tall redhead wearing a black leather cat suit that had been spray-painted on her curvy body and stiletto heeled boots brushed against him as she got into the car. At his exclamation, she had pulled her dark sunglasses down her nose to inspect him with cat-green eyes. “Not bad,” was her husky pronouncement as she replaced her glasses and then punched a button to close the doors.

“Not bad,” he murmured as he went to the reception desk of the security agency of Kerns, Kaplan, and Deerfield. He had just been given a critique from an engraved invitation to sin – and not bad was as good as he got. He thought he at least might rate an “ok.”

Damn, he was horny! Well, it was more than horny – he was lonely. After finding a headless Barbie doll on her pillow, his last girlfriend had run screaming from his house. This had been after weeks of threatening notes.

JC Chasez was the victim of a crazed and very clever stalker. She had invaded his life while evading capture. He was no longer secure in his own home. She had threatened every female he had spoken to more than once. He was becoming a pariah where women were concerned.

“I’m here to meet with Johnny Wright,” he told the little blonde at the desk.

“Certainly, sir. He is with Mr. Kerns and Mr. Kaplan. I’ll buzz you in.” she indicated a large oak door to her left. When he stood at the door, a “bzzt” sound allowed him to turn the handle.

*NSYNC’s manager Johnny Wright sat at a large oval table across from two men. The first man was perhaps fifty with steel-gray hair and a squared jaw. The second man was about JC’s age, blonde, handsome, cowboy-type.

“Mr. Chasez.” The older man stood up and offered JC a firm handshake. “I’m Robert Kerns. This is my associate, Kevin Kaplan.” He indicated the other man.

“What? No Deerfield?” JC asked as a weak attempt at humor.

“Deerfield is on assignment.” The man waved JC into a chair next to Johnny and resumed his seat. “It seems you have a rather scary situation going on.”

“It is cutting into my social life.” He joked though it was no joking matter.

“We have been going over the evidence with Mr. Wright and we agree that the police do not have the manpower to expedite an investigation – or protect you. With your travel schedule, they can’t cover you.”

“I have security.” JC pointed out.

“You don’t have trained investigators.”

“I don’t need to make my life anymore of a prison.”

“I assure you, you won’t even know we’re there.”

“Yeah, right.”

“JC, this is some serious stuff,” Johnny reminded him. “Why don’t we go along for a couple months? If nothing shakes out, then we’ll cut our losses.”

“If I even suspect a snoop...” JC let the threat hang in the air.

“Unless the stalker makes a blatant move, we’re background.” Kerns repeated.

JC had huge doubts.
