Return of Rabbits

JC frowned when James came out of the exam room of the doctor’s office. Her latest and supposedly final check-up. She wasn’t meeting his eyes. That wasn’t a good sign.

“James?”

“I talked to the doctor about our sex life. I told her we had – um – a very active sex life before the shooting.” Her voice was low and neutral. “I told her we wanted children.”

He swallowed his disappointment. He’d wait as long as he had to as long as James was recovering. “We can deal with anything as long as we have each other, babe.” He pulled her close nuzzling her.

“Are you very sure?”

“Yeah, 200 percent.”

“That sounds pretty sure.”

“Because I am.”

“Josh?”

“Yeah, baby?”

James tilted her head back until she met his gentle gaze. “I got a clean bill of health.”

“Wha?...”

She grinned impishly. “Let’s go home and act like fucking rabbits.”

Laughing, JC swung her around and set her back down. “Do I have to make it all the way home?”

“Mmm...our favorite hotel is closer,” she suggested.

“I love the way you think!”

JC was certain his feet weren’t even touching the ground as he escorted James to the car.

Lady J was back 100% – or was that 200%?....
