For the Girl...Who Has Everything

Dating JC

Their date wasn’t starting out too well, JC decided. Gabby was already late in meeting him and it was raining. He continued to nurse his drink as he waited. Leave it to the spoiled princess to stand him up...

“JC! Je regretted. I am so very sorry.” Gabby swept into the bar on a waft of sexy, spicy perfume. Her slender white arms went around his neck from behind. “Not a very auspicious beginning, non? The rain...My taxi had a flat tire...”

He ran his hands up her satiny arms. “That’s okay, baby.” He was more relieved that he wouldn’t have to listen to Justin’s taunts if she had stood him up.

“The museum...”

“Is closed. We can still make the jazz club.” He turned to stand and took her hand. “Let’s go.”

The rain kept coming. JC was pleased to see his beautiful companion didn’t mind getting a little wet. Gabby giggled like a happy child as they ran for the little club to avoid getting soaked. Once inside, he smoothed her damp hair tenderly as she looked up at him so trustingly with her big soft eyes. Oh, God, he wanted to kiss her so bad! Instead, he pressed his lips to her forehead. “Not too wet,” he commented.

Zut alors! She thought he was actually going to kiss her. She wanted him to – badly! “No, not terribly.”

Releasing her, he took her hand to lead her to a booth. This was cozy. The half-circle booths were high enough that no one could see over the sides. Intimate, casual, dimly-lit. He’d have to thank the person who had suggested this place. It was perfect. A waitress handed them the menus then retreated with the promise to return in a few minutes.

Gabby started giggling again.

“What?” JC asked. Nothing on the menu looked funny to him.

“Do you realize, JC, you are the only one who has taken me to an actual restaurant of all my dates? Justin fed me stale popcorn. Chris stopped at a drive-up window. Joey – no food. And with Lance, we didn’t stop to eat.”

“Well, if you want to take a girl out, I think a nice quiet place where you can talk is a good idea.”

C’est vrai.”

“And we need to eat...”

“You and Lance are the only ones who actually planned outings where we could talk. Justin was, how you say, glued to his game. Joey’s dance club was to loud – and it is difficult to talk when riding on a motorcycle.”

So Lance was his ultimate competition...

“What’ll you have, princess?” JC asked.

“Cheeseburger, s’il tu plait.” She did like her American cheeseburgers and French fries.

“What would you like to drink?”

Gabby sighed. “No milkshakes, je suppose.”

“Not on the menu. Sorry.”

“A cola will be fine.”

More rain. That didn’t dampen the couple’s enthusiasm for the hot jazz they listened and danced to most of the night. Gabby couldn’t remember enjoying a man’s company more. Little secrets slipped passed her lips and JC’s sincere eyes promised to keep them.

The soggy weather didn’t weaken Gabby’s determination to taste a real kiss from JC that night. After the taxi ride back to the hotel, he escorted her to her door.

“This has been a most lovely evening,” she told him.

“Another time we can get to a museum,” he promised.

“I should enjoy that.” She put her arms around his lean waist. “Do you know what else I would enjoy?”

“No, baby. Tell me and we’ll do it,” he murmured as her feel, her heat, and her scent swamped his senses.

“I want you to kiss me.”

“Oh, yeah...” No argument there. He brushed his lips over hers then let them linger. “Tastes like more.”

Oui.”

His mouth returned to hers, his tongue sliding along the seam of her lips. Her little gasp of surprise gained his entrance. Shyly, hers joined his in the dance, tangling with and licking at his. They were both breathless when he pulled his head back.

“You’ve never...” JC met her dazed eyes. “I’m the first guy you’ve French kissed!”

Oui. Was I horrible?” Gabby asked.

“No, baby, it was great.”

“Then might we do it again?”

“I’m not sure how smart that would be. I’m already turned on.”

“Oh...” She looked so disappointed...

“What the hell....” Backing her up against her door, he buried his hands in her hair as his mouth came down on hers. Their mouths mated hungrily. Her tongue found its way into his mouth to taste and explore as he had hers. She felt the imprint of JC’s hard body, his aroused manhood pressing into her softness. Raising his head this time, he was panting. “Enough!”

“Not nearly enough,” she murmured.

JC sought her gaze this time. No uncertainty or shyness was found in her eyes. They had turned storm cloud gray with passion.

“Gabby...”

“I shall let you go,” she announced softly. “I do not wish to cause you anymore discomfort.”

“For the record, you have the sweetest, most delectable mouth I’ve ever tasted.”

She gave him a small smile. “I like your flavor.”

Dropping a light kiss on her lips, he murmured. “Night, princess. Sleep tight.”

Bonne nuit, JC. Sleep well.”

“JC,” he grumbled as he answered his bedside phone. Who in the hell would call him at this hour of the night?

“JC? It is Gabby.” Her voice was small and quavering.

Immediately, his voice was more pleasant. “What’s wrong, baby?”

“I – I know I am a silly goose...”

“Out with it.”

“I am frightened.”

“Of?...”

“The storm.”

The rain that had caught them earlier was now a raging thunderstorm. He knew what she wanted. “C’mon over baby girl. You can bunk with me.”

Merci!

JC heard the receiver click and replaced it in its cradle. Climbing out of bed, he went to open the door. Only a moment later, he was holding Gabby’s trembling body, her face buried in his shirtfront. “Damn! You’re like ice!” Scooping her up, he deposited her in bed and lay beside her.

She crowded against him as he pulled up the covers.

“It’s okay, baby. I’ve got you,” he soothed.

“I am not horribly brave,” she murmured.

“We all have something we’re afraid of,” he assured her.

“What do you fear, JC?”

“Needles.”

“As in injections?”

“Yes, ma’am.”

“Then the next time you must have an injection, I shall be there for you,” she promised.

He smiled at her earnest offer. Would Gabby still be with them at such a time? “What would you do?”

“Kiss you.”

That would work. Even though she wasn’t terribly experienced in the art of kissing, he delicious mouth had short-circuited every sane thought process in his brain. Chuckling, he switched off the light and settled her against him to sleep. “Good night, Gabby.”

“It shall be now.”

Seemingly comforted, she drifted off to sleep.

JC stared into the darkness. This spoiled, sweet woman was making herself a home in his heart. Would he survive her departure?

Gabby didn’t think twice. When the bedside telephone rang the next morning, she reached for it. “Allo?

“Gabby?” Justin sounded startled.

Oui.”

“I called JC’s room.”

Glancing over her shoulder, she determined JC slept on. “Oui. He sleeps.”

“Uh...can I talk to him?”

“One moment.” Gabby set the receiver down, then turned to gently shake JC.

When he woke with Gabby hovering above him, JC smiled drowsily. “Morning, princess.”

Bon jour, JC. Justin is on the telephone for you.”

He came fully awake. “Shit.”

Gabby rose from the bed. “I shall go dress for breakfast,” she said as she went to the adjoining room.

JC reached for the receiver. “Yeah.”

“That musta been some date,” Justin taunted.

“Gabby is afraid of storms. She climbed in bed with me last night. End of story.” Of course, he left out the part where her kisses were potent and magical.

“Oh..kay.”

“What did you want?” JC demanded.

“I wanted to see how your date went.”

“Better than yours. I took her somewhere she wanted to go,” JC mused.

“Guess basketball’s not her thing.”

“Watches with me, but I don’t ignore her when I watch. Here’s a heads up – when you meet a girl at a jazz club, it’s a pretty good bet she likes the music.”

“Yeah...so did you kiss her?”

“Did you?”

“I asked first.”

“Didn’t, huh?” JC chuckled.

“But you did!”

“Yeah, but if you tease her...” JC threatened.

“Nah...Wasn’t planning to.”

“Good.”

“She’s been your girl from day one.”

“If you mean I’ve been her keeper...”

“No, C, little Gabby’s always liked you best.”

JC couldn’t deny it. Gabby was always close at hand. “I’m more like her security blanket.”

“Did she kiss back like you are a security blanket?”

“No.” She had given it all.

“I thought not.”

“JC?” Gabby poked her head in, smiling.

“Yeah, baby?” JC smiled up at her.

“Are we eating breakfast here?”

“No, probably on the bus.”

“Oh...”

“I’ll fix you something.”

“That is not necessary.”

He laughed. “You burn Poptarts.”

“She’s domesticating you, C,” Justin taunted over the phone.

JC had forgotten Justin once Gabby had smiled at him. “Somebody needs to domesticate her,” he murmured.

“You?”

“That’s too big a job for one mortal man.”

“What is?” Gabby asked.

“Never mind,” he answered. To Justin, he muttered, “Later.”

“You are wonderful to me,” Gabby told JC as he set a plate of scrambled eggs and toast in front of her as she sat in the bus’ dining area.

“Is that all it takes to be wonderful?” He asked as he sat across from her in the small booth with his own plate.

She shook her head. “No, you are very good at giving of yourself. That is a gift. You are the example of how I should be.” She looked incredibly sad.

“What’s wrong, princess?”

“I am hopeless. I can do nothing but look decorative. I have only been taught etiquette and protocol. I serve no purpose.”

“No!” JC moved to her side, wiping at her sudden tears. “It’s not true, baby. You have that innocent sweetness you practically breathe.”

“I do not cook. I am not very good at picking up after myself. I know nothing of laundry...” She listed her sins according to JC. “I am spoiled.”

“You’re a great kisser, naturally talented.” His mouth covered hers to derail her negative thoughts. It worked like a charm. She leaned into him as their tongues mated and they tasted each other. Her arms went around his neck as his hands tugged her hips closer. “Baby, I want you,” he murmured in her ear. “Gabby, I want you so bad...” His lips trailed along her neck, to her throat. He was halted from further forays by the scoop neck line of her tee shirt.

Was this sexual desire? Gabby wondered. She was hot and shivery. Her breasts ached with the need for his touch. An unfamiliar tingle had begun in her secret woman place.

She turned wide, innocent eyes on him. “JC?”

His lips claimed hers once more as he pressed her even closer.

Tentatively, she pulled her mouth from his and put her lips to his ear. “Oui,” she whispered, flicking her tongue at the shell. “I ache to know more of you.”

JC groaned at her confession. As much as he complained about her, he wanted her with a desire that was close to needing air to breathe: driving, consuming need. “This isn’t the place.” He nipped along her throat. “But, yes, baby, we’ll explore and learn each other.”

S’il te plait...”

Gathering what he retained of strength and sanity, he released her and moved back to his seat. Damn! She looked so delectable with her kiss-swollen lips and soft gray eyes. It was only a matter of time before little Gabby was his.
